From Leon, Guanajuato International (BJX)
About 1.5 hours to San Miguel

Private car service is available. From Leon International BJX is $1,800.00 pesos each direction and a vehicle suitable for 3 to 7 passengers is $2,700 pesos each direction. A vehicle for 8 up to 13 people is available. Ask for pricing. We are happy to make the arrangements for you through the car service.

Taxis are also available at the airport for around $1,800 pesos, which is approximately the same price as the private car.  The advantage of the private car is that the driver knows exactly where we are, and the car is more comfortable.

From Guanajuato City

Private car service is available from the city of the city of Guanajuato for $1,800 pesos each direction. A vehicle suitable for 3 to 7 passengers is $2,700 pesos each direction. From Querétaro International (QRO)
About 1.5 hour to San Miguel

From Mexico City International (MEX)
About 4.5 hours total Airport to San Miguel

Private Car and Driver - The fastest and most reliable ground transportation option from MEX to San Miguel de Allende is a private car and driver.  Your driver will pick you up at the Mexico City Airport and bring you directly to our door. The cost for a normal sedan is around $4,900 pesos. A vehicle for 3 to 7 people is also available for $6,000 pesos. A vehicle for up to 13 people is available. Ask for pricing. Shuttle - Another way to get from Mexico City Airport to our Boutique Bed and Breakfast in San Miguel de Allende is by shuttle.  To reserve, visit bajiogo.com. When you exit Customs at MEX the driver will meet you holding a sign with your name on it.  You might need to wait a while for other passengers to join you.  The shuttle will bring you directly to Antigua Capilla Boutique Bed & Breakfast.  The cost of the service is approximately $100.00 USD per person with a minimum of two people.

Bus - The least expensive option is to take a Primera Plus bus from Mexico City Airport to Querétaro Central Bus Station. These are deluxe buses with restrooms. The trip to Queretaro is about 3.5 hours. Bus seats are about $540 pesos the last time we checked. Buy a ticket at the booth just outside Terminal D.

Bus schedules to Querétaro start about 8:30 AM and continue about every hour until 9 PM. Then, from Querétaro Central Bus Station, buy a prepaid taxi voucher at the booth as you leave the terminal. The cost is about 540.00 pesos the last time we checked, and the trip takes about 45 minutes. You can also catch another bus from Querétaro to San Miguel for about $120.00 pesos. However, you might have to wait up to 2 hours before the bus leaves. It is a 2nd class bus, very “colorful” stopping at many villages along the way to San Miguel.

You can also take a taxi or ride the metro from MEX to the Mexico City Terminal Norte bus station, and from there take a bus all the way to San Miguel de Allende.  See below for more information.

From Mexico City Terminal Norte Bus Station
About 4 hours to San Miguel

The Primera Plus or ETN bus companies will take you from the Terminal Norte Bus Station directly to San Miguel de Allende.  Both lines are deluxe buses with restrooms. The ETN buses are a bit more upscale. Both lines usually show a movie (sometimes dubbed in Spanish) and offer a sandwich and soft drink.  There are several departures throughout the day and the price is about $720 pesos on ETN and $690 on Primera Plus.  Check their websites for bus schedules.  You can buy your tickets at the terminal on the same day of departure.

From Toluca International (TLC)
About 4.5 hours total Airport to San Miguel

The least expensive option is to take a Primera Plus or ETN bus from Toluca Central Bus Station to Queretaro Central Bus Station. Both lines are deluxe buses with restrooms. The ETN buses are a bit more upscale, but offer a more limited schedule. Both lines usually show a movie (sometimes dubbed in Spanish) and offer a soft drink. The trip is about 3 hours. Bus seats are about $320 Pesos for Primera Plus and $360 Pesos for ETN. Buy a ticket at the Primera Plus or ETN counters inside the terminal. To get to the bus station, take a taxi from the airport. 

Bus schedules to Queretaro start at 6:30 AM and continue about every hour until 10:30 PM. Then, from Queretaro Central Bus Station, buy a prepaid taxi voucher at the booth as you leave the terminal. You can also catch another bus from Queretaro to San Miguel for about $120.00 pesos. However, you might have to wait up to 2 hours before the bus leaves. It is a 2nd class bus, very “colorful” stopping at many villages along the way to San Miguel.
