About Us

We are Antonieta and Francisco, and we met in San Francisco, California in 1987 when we were 17 years old. Francisco was born in Guatemala City, raised in San Francisco, and studied Architectural Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Antonieta is a San Francisco native born to a Mexican father and Nicaraguan mother. She has a Business Degree in Hospitality Management from the University of San Francisco and a Pastry Chef degree from Tante Marie Cooking School. We are very fortunate to both be equally fluent in Spanish and English having grown up speaking Spanish in our households.

.As children, we both visited our ancestral homes during our summer vacations. In 1997, we took our very first international trip together to Guatemala and Costa Rica. Ever since then, we have been hooked on travel, and the wanderlust is still strong in us today. In fact, we have visited close 30 countries so far. Because of this love for travel, we decided to move to Mexico where we bought a piece of land and constructed our dream bed and breakfast in San Miguel de Allende.

At Antigua Capilla Boutique B&B, we have created a special place where we would want to stay. In fact, we live on the property, and we are available to our guests and provide personalized service to make our guests’ stay the best it can be. We strive to provide personal attention, which sets us apart from the rest. When you stay with us, you are staying with friends who happen to own a bed and breakfast.
